NEW ARTEL was incorporated as a private limited Company in July 25 2001 and started its operations in October 2002. It has the goal of providing Telecommunication services in order to take in the country’s plan of ICT development towards the attainment of Rwanda’s vision 2020. In May 2007,New Artel started operating as a government company.

NEW ARTEL operates iDirect 5IF which is a powerful IP based hub that is operated on C band on Intelsat 907 using the South East Zone beam with a full coverage to the majority of Africa. C band makes the services practically immune to rain fade outages. NEW ARTEL guarantees 99.8% link availability (excluding maintenance outages), even with the small VSAT terminals used by ARTEL. This is why we are able to provide the required bandwidth at any moment to all regions extending from the Sahara desert to South Africa.

It has 13 suitably qualified Engineers and 16 Technicians who provide the daily smooth technical operations as well as offering support 24 hours a day and seven days a week whenever necessary. This has made us extend our offices in all corners of the country so as to get close to whoever will need any immediate support. ARTEL’s Headquarter is located in Kigali, Airport Road, opposite Chez Lando Hotel. Its branch offices are located in Kayonza in the Eastern Province, Huye in the Southern Province, Musanze in the Northern Province, and Nyamasheke and Kibuye both in the Western Province.
